General Role

The Vice Principal assists the Principal in the overall academic, administrative, and quality assurance activities of Cumilla Medical College. The Vice Principal plays a key role in coordinating academic programmes and promoting continuous improvement in medical education.

In the absence of the Principal, the Vice Principal may perform responsibilities delegated by or assigned according to the applicable institutional rules and competent authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal in the overall academic and administrative management of the College.
• Serve as the Chairman of the Quality Assurance Body (QAB) and oversee quality assurance activities of the College.
• Coordinate with the Academic Coordinator, Phase Coordinators, Subject Coordinators, departments, and other relevant bodies to ensure smooth implementation of academic programmes.
• Monitor the implementation of the Academic Calendar, Year Calendar, lesson plans, teaching schedules, and assessment activities.
• Promote coordination among different academic departments and phases of the MBBS programme.
• Support the Medical Education Unit (MEU) and encourage faculty development, modern teaching methods, and appropriate assessment practices.
• Monitor academic activities and identify areas requiring improvement through regular review and feedback.
• Coordinate institutional quality improvement activities and maintain relevant documentation.
• Assist in the preparation and implementation of policies, plans, and activities related to medical education quality and accreditation.
• Promote a student-centred learning environment, professionalism, effective communication, and academic discipline.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned or delegated by the Principal or competent authority.

Overall Accountability

The Vice Principal is accountable for supporting the Principal and providing effective leadership in academic coordination, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement, and the smooth implementation of the educational programme, thereby contributing to the overall development and academic excellence of Cumilla Medical College.
